“Hi... I'm Tim. I am a Housing Specification Manager at Gerflor Flooring UK, covering the South East."

What do you like about your role and the industry you work in?

"I really enjoy making a difference to how people can live in and enjoy their homes.  I meet with Project Managers, Specifiers, Key Decision Makers at some of the Top Housing Associations across London and the Southeast, as well as Main Contractors, Installers, and Buyers.  I really feel that the team I work within, offers outstanding support and we work well together to achieve national framework agreements and contracts across our respective territories.  No day is ever the same.  You can be working on a specification or tender one day that will be for 10,000 plots, to the following day, I could be meeting an individual homeowner to talk about a product he or she may wish to install in their home."

Favourite product and why?

 "The Griptex range – To me it’s a game changer, it’s made with a unique Gerflor Fibre Technology (GFT) backing. This consist of 4 plastic bottles per m2, so it’s a great solution for the housing sector from a sustainability point of view. But not just that… it’s an innovation that can be loose laid up to 35m2, there is no glue or adhesives required and it can be laid over most surfaces, saving our customers time and money when a fast turnaround is required. They are some awesome designs and colourations in the collection, popular with tenants, landlords, and owners alike. Plus, its warm and comfortable and safe as it meets HSE +36 guidelines."

What do you like doing in your spare time?

"I can be found either shooting clays during the summer months, or game shooting with my dog Henry, picking up and flushing out the game in the winter months.  I also enjoy Trout fishing and have recently caught my best trout ever… just under 13lb! You wouldn’t think I am fisherman when you first look at me…but it’s a relaxing activity and there’s no such thing as a bad day when you're fishing….if you are hooked and what to know more, then contact me for fishing tips and also for help with your social housing and new build projects.”
