At Gerflor we like to add that personal touch.... Get to know the members of our team by finding more about their role, their favourite products and what they like to do in their spare time. This week we are getting to know Lewis Leadeatt, who will be joining the Industry team in the New Year.

What do you like about your role and the sector you work in?
The life sciences and tech industry in the UK is expanding quickly, and Gerflor is a European leader in this sector. It's such an interesting and innovative industry that affects our daily lives. I get to meet a lot of unique and dynamic people and learn many new things. Gerflor and Gradus combined, have a complete portfolio of solutions for the contracts sector that enables us to be a full interior solutions partner
What challenges are driving the Industry sector ?
I would say the top priority for clients is all about long term procurement of sustainable and environmental solutions for their facilities. Investors want to focus their funding on long term eco-friendly innovations and offer development that is in line with this key goal , manufacturers need to clearly demonstrate that they are achieving Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) ambitions to help their clients attract ongoing investment. Other than customers installing solar panels, wind turbines and landscaping green areas, building products can also achieve ecological benefits by being 100% recyclable, containing up to 55% recycled content, being Phthalate free and BREEAM A or A+ accredited.
Favourite Gerflor solutions and why?
This has to be the revolutionary GTI Technical Tile, as it’s so robust, hardwearing and easy to fit. This loose lay solution simply connects together thanks to its unique dovetail format and it can be installed over most existing floor finishes, with no down time for an End User and hence, no loss of turnover. It is durable enough to handle the harshest of environments, as heavy machinery and rolling loads such as forklift trucks can easily be driven over the flooring surface. It’s such a popular innovation, that we have produced ESD and Cleantech versions, for anti-static and food production/clean room areas.
What do you like doing in your spare time?
I have two little girls with my partner, and they are my priority who I share most of my spare time with. I try to keep active and get outdoors as much as I can. I take the family on long walks, and if I get a moment away from them…pretty tricky…I like to play golf or squash with my friends. I also like to go to the football (big supporter of Man Utd) and I like to attend a good boxing event.
