Gerflor at forefront of £30.5M transformation of Whitmore High School, Wales

When Whitmore High School in Barry, Wales were undergoing a massive £30.5M transformation that required over 6000m2 of new flooring they turned to international flooring specialist Gerflor for their specific project needs. Gerflor would supply a range of their world class products to meet the extremely high specifications that the contractor and school would demand. The contractor for the project would specify a mix of Gerflor’s Taralay Impression Compact and Comfort flooring, together with their pedigree Taraflex® sports flooring, alongside their world renowned Tarasafe flooring products.

Accommodating 1,100 pupils, the work, conducted by Morgan Sindall Construction, has created an ultramodern learning environment with stateof- the-art facilities. The vast range of flooring products that Gerflor supplied covered a large area of the school’s daily activities comprising of the communal areas, classrooms, and the sports element of the project, which also included the main sports hall.
