In addition to offering a wide range of stunning vinyl floorcoverings, Gerflor has introduced Tarafit™, a revolutionary flooring solution for robust, easy-to-clean, hygienic corners in healthcare and cleanroom facilities.

Finishing coved corners, with both internal and external angles, using conventional methods, is a difficult process. Even skilled craftsmen find it difficult to create a strong weld on the apex of the corner and, when completed correctly, external welds may still fail over time through accidental knocks. Internally, mitred corners often become dirt traps as mops are unable to reach into the apex.

Gerflor's Tarafit™ corner solution, which is patented for use with the Gerflor Mipolam homogeneous products, is a laying technique for the covering of inside and protruding angles. Corner welding is not required as the technique consists of folding over a special template. Tarafit™ creates a smooth butterfly wing-shaped finish which moulds around the external angles. Internal angles are installed with a specially developed corner former which ensures that the corner finish sits well away from the internal apex, allowing for thorough cleaning with a traditional mop. The system is not only easy to clean; it is also durable and aesthetically pleasing.
